PERSONAL COACHING
What is coaching?
Put simply, a coach guides a person from where they are to where they want to be. A coach does not give advice as the objective is that the client discovers their own ability and strength to help themselves, with guidance and support to push beyond emotional and historic barriers. Coaching focusses on future possibilities, not past mistakes. Key to success is commitment, confidentiality and of course rapport between client and coach.
Coaching is a highly motivational and empowering way of supporting someone to develop whilst also providing a framework to improve performance. This may be at work or in personal life, focussing on a particular issue or major transformational change. It is not counselling or therapy, though it can be therapeutic. It looks forward to the future rather than analyses the past.
I believe that we all have the capacity to rise to the challenges we face. I also believe that we can all benefit from some skilled support to help us to our full potential. As parents we give so much of ourselves to our children. As adults we rarely get this kind of attention, but when we do it can have a truly transformational effect on our lives. If I am the right coach for you and you are ready to move out of your comfort zone and to make lasting changes, then you will get to where you want to be. I urge you to invest in yourself!
How does coaching work?
Coaching is encouraging and supportive but also challenging. It asks powerful questions that can only be asked of that client at that moment. A powerful question is often one that the client has not asked themselves or at least has not addressed. Such powerful questions help the client to identify their developmental needs, then determine their goals and reach them. Coaching helps them to transfer their learning to their individual personal life, workplace or parenting role.
My coaching services are tailored to the individual client to ensure that their needs are met. Once I understand the client’s needs and objectives I will design a personal coaching programme to be agreed with the client before coaching starts.
Coaching takes place face to face or by phone/skype, at a time and place to be agreed. I recommend that a least the first session is conducted face to face but this is not essential. Payment is in advance by bank transfer.
Not sure if personal coaching is for you? We start with a brief free discussion with no obligation on either side to ensure that this is the right path for you and that we can work together.

Parenting and You offers two types of coaching
Coaching for Coping
This short term help is designed for clients who want to address a particular issue, perhaps an urgent decision or challenging situation, or to sort out priorities or clarify objectives. Time spent focussing on an issue or making even small changes can significantly alter a situation or outcome. It typically takes the form of 1-3 coaching sessions though this can vary. The first session lasts 90 mins and subsequent sessions last 60 mins.
CONTACT METransformational Coaching
This is designed to help clients make transformational and lasting change in their lives. It aims to energise and inspire clients to discover or rediscover their passion and potential. It then helps them to transfer this new learning and behaviour to the workplace or their personal life. Customised to the client but typically 6 sessions, the first lasting 90 minutes and subsequent sessions 60 minutes. Optional free 60-minute follow-up at a later date.
